Charity Trek to Mount Toubkal
Challenge yourself to climb North Africa’s highest peak while also helping to develop the futures of many people via raising funds to help a particular charity.
This difficult but rewarding endeavor mixes the breathtaking backdrop of the High Atlas Mountains with the splendor and color of Marrakech. It will take you climbing and scrambling over the massive boulders and rocks of Jebel Toubkal, Northern Africa’s tallest peak at 4,167m!
Although not technically climbing, the weather and terrain make this a physically demanding endeavor, so you’ll need to be in good shape. We end our journey in Marrakech, where southern tribesmen and Berber villagers sell their wares in the souks.
This Charity trek to Mount Toubkal can be done in at least two days from Marrakech city.
The Trek itinerary will be as follows:
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil valley – Toubkal Basecamp. It takes 1h30 drive from Marrakech to imlil valley where you will meet our local team. Then, it will take around 5 to 6h walk on day one. Overnight at a Refuge.
Day 2: Basecamp – Toubkal summit – Basecamp – imlil valley – Marrakech. After an early breakfast, climb to the peak of Toubkal. Enjoy nice views from the summit. Then, return back to the basecamp for lunch. Later on, keep walking downhill to imlil valley, and transfer back to Marrakech. It will take around 9 to 10h walk + 1h30 drive to Marrakech.
