Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi n'Tichka Pass – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Your 3-day Merzouga Desert Tour begins with an early pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech at around 7:30 am.
Leave the Red City behind and travel south towards the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. The road climbs gradually towards the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, reaching approximately 2,260 metres above sea level. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of rugged peaks, deep valleys and traditional Amazigh villages.
Continue towards Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the historic ksar and its maze of narrow lanes and traditional earthen buildings before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, continue to Ouarzazate, often known as the “Hollywood of Morocco” due to its long association with international film productions. Stop near the Atlas Film Studios for photographs before continuing into the city centre for a panoramic view of the impressive Taourirt Kasbah.
From Ouarzazate, continue along the scenic Road of a Thousand Kasbahs towards the Dades Valley. Arrive in Boumalne Dades in the evening, where you will check into your hotel, enjoy dinner and relax after your first day on the road.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Tinghir – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast, continue your journey through the spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco.
Travel through the Dades Valley towards Tinghir, a beautiful oasis surrounded by rugged mountains and palm groves. Continue to the impressive Todra Gorge, where enormous limestone cliffs rise dramatically on either side of the valley.
Take some time to explore the gorge and enjoy a short walk before continuing towards the Sahara. Travel through the desert landscapes towards Erfoud, a town famous for its fossils and as an important gateway to the Sahara. Continue onwards to Merzouga, where the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi rise dramatically from the desert floor.
On arrival, meet your camel team and begin your unforgettable camel trek into the dunes. Ride across the Sahara as the afternoon light changes, arriving at your desert camp in time to experience the spectacular sunset.
Spend the evening enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner and the peaceful atmosphere of the desert beneath a canopy of stars.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Merzouga – Marrakech
Wake early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. As the first rays of light illuminate the Sahara, enjoy the peaceful beauty of the desert before having breakfast at camp.
After breakfast, ride your camels back to the meeting point, where your driver will be waiting. Begin the long journey back to Marrakech, travelling through the changing landscapes of southern Morocco. Enjoy several stops along the way to stretch your legs, take photographs and have lunch.
Continue north across the High Atlas Mountains, once again crossing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass before descending towards Marrakech.
Arrive in Marrakech later in the afternoon or evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or riad.
