Tour Plan
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil Valley – Isk Summit Trek
Your adventure begins after breakfast with a pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech. From here, enjoy a scenic 1.5-hour drive south into the heart of the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in Imlil Valley at 1,740m.
Upon arrival, check in at your mountain lodge and meet your local trekking team before setting out on your first adventure: a rewarding 6-hour loop hike through the surrounding mountains. The trail climbs gently through the peaceful Tidli Forest, passing through fragrant pine and juniper woodland and following quieter mountain paths. As you gain altitude, the trees gradually thin and the landscape opens into expansive mountain scenery. Along the way, pass traditional grazing areas and simple shepherd shelters before reaching the Isk Summit (2,520m). From this tranquil mountain viewpoint, enjoy spectacular panoramic views across the High Atlas, including impressive views of Mount Toubkal and the surrounding peaks.
After taking time to appreciate the scenery, begin your descent through the forest towards Aroumd, one of the largest and most historic Berber villages in the Imlil region. Built dramatically on a rocky hillside, the village is characterised by traditional stone houses rising along the slopes. From Aroumd, follow a gentle trail through the valley back to your lodge in Imlil.
After approximately six hours of walking, take some time to relax and refresh before enjoying a well- deserved dinner and peaceful evening in the mountains.

Day 2: Imlil – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
After breakfast, depart Imlil at approximately 8:30 AM and begin a scenic journey across the High Atlas Mountains. The road climbs towards the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), one of the highest paved mountain passes in Morocco.
Continue south through dramatic mountain landscapes and traditional Berber villages before reaching Aït Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take time to explore its atmospheric earthen architecture before enjoying lunch in the area.
In the afternoon, continue towards Ouarzazate, often referred to as the gateway to the Sahara. Stop for photographs at the famous Atlas Film Studios and enjoy panoramic views of the impressive Taourirt Kasbah.
Your journey then continues through the scenic Valley of Roses, where traditional villages and cultivated fields contrast beautifully with the surrounding rugged mountains.
By late afternoon, arrive in Boumalne du Dadès in the Dades Valley. Check in to your local hotel, enjoy dinner, and settle in for the night.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Desert Camp
Today, continue your journey east through some of southern Morocco’s most dramatic landscapes. Travel through the spectacular Dades Valley, renowned for its rugged rock formations and dramatic canyon scenery, before continuing towards the magnificent Todra Gorges.
Take time to explore the towering canyon walls and enjoy opportunities for photographs before continuing your journey through the changing landscapes of the eastern High Atlas and preSaharan region.
After lunch, continue towards Merzouga, the gateway to the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes. On arrival, meet your camel team and embark on an unforgettable camel ride into the Sahara Desert. As the sun begins to descend, ride deeper into the golden dunes, enjoying the changing colours and vast silence of the desert. Arrive at your traditional Berber desert camp shortly before sunset. After settling into your accommodation, enjoy a delicious dinner and an atmospheric evening beneath the vast desert sky.

Day 4: Merzouga – Marrakech
Rise early for one of the most memorable moments of your Moroccan adventure: sunrise over the Sahara dunes. Watch the first light transform the golden sands before returning to camp for breakfast.
After breakfast, ride the camels back to the meeting point with your driver and begin the long journey west towards Marrakech.
The return journey crosses a remarkable variety of Moroccan landscapes, from the desert and pre-Saharan valleys to the High Atlas Mountains. Stop along the way for lunch before continuing towards the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, crossing the mountains once again on your way back to Marrakech.
Arrive in the Red City in the evening, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation, bringing your four-day Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert adventure to an end.

Is a camel ride included in the Sahara Desert experience?
Yes. A camel ride into the Erg Chebbi sand dunes is included. You ride the camels toward the desert camp before sunset and, on the following morning, enjoy the Sahara sunrise before riding the camels back to meet your driver
