Continue Browsing TripsYour adventure begins with a morning pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech. We then drive south into the High Atlas Mountains towards Oukaimeden (2,600m), Morocco’s famous mountain ski resort. The journey takes approximately two hours.
Upon arrival, you will meet our local mountain team and begin your trek towards Tizi n’Eddi Pass (2,900m). As you climb, the landscape opens up to reveal spectacular views across the dramatic Imnane Valley and surrounding High Atlas peaks.
From the pass, we begin a scenic descent towards Tachedirt (2,300m), one of the highest villages in the region. On arrival, you will settle into a comfortable local lodge and enjoy a relaxing evening surrounded by the mountains.

After breakfast, we leave Tachedirt and follow the trail down through the beautiful Imnane Valley. Along the way, we pass through several traditional Berber villages, including Ouanskra, Tamguist and Ikkis, offering an authentic glimpse into life in the High Atlas.
We then cross the mountain river and begin climbing towards Tizi n’Aguersioual Pass (2,100m). From the pass, enjoy impressive views stretching across the surrounding mountains and towards the Imlil Valley.
From here, the trail descends steadily towards Imlil. We arrive in the valley in the afternoon and settle into a local lodge for the night.

After breakfast, we leave Imlil (1,740m) and begin our ascent towards the heart of the Toubkal massif.
Following the Aït Mizane Valley, the trail gradually climbs through traditional mountain landscapes and past Berber settlements. Along the way, we reach Sidi Chamharouch, a distinctive mountain shrine and small settlement situated beside the river.
From here, the trail becomes increasingly rugged as we continue towards the high mountains and eventually reach the Toubkal Refuge (3,207m), our base for the summit attempt.
After arriving at the refuge, you can relax and enjoy the dramatic mountain scenery before an early night.
Walking: Approximately 5–6 hours
Overnight: Toubkal Refuge
Today is the highlight of the trek: summit day. We wake very early and have breakfast before setting off towards Mount Toubkal (4,167m).
The trail climbs steadily through rugged high-altitude terrain, and after approximately three hours of ascent, we reach the summit.
Standing at the highest point in Morocco and North Africa is a truly rewarding experience.
Take time to celebrate your achievement and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views across the High Atlas Mountains and surrounding peaks.
After a well-earned break at the summit, we begin our descent along the same route back to the Toubkal Refuge. Once there, you can relax and enjoy another night in the mountains.
Walking: Approximately 6 hours
Overnight: Toubkal Refuge
After breakfast, we begin our final descent from the Toubkal Refuge, following the same trail back through the Aït Mizane Valley towards Imlil. The descent takes approximately four to five hours, offering beautiful views of the valley and surrounding mountain villages along the way.
Once we arrive in Imlil, we stop for lunch and take some time to relax before meeting our driver for the return journey to Marrakech.
