Tour Plan
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil Valley (1,740m) – Isk Summit (2,520m) – Aroumd – Imlil
Your adventure begins shortly after breakfast with a private transfer from your accommodation in Marrakech towards the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. After approximately 1.5 hours on the road, you arrive in Imlil Valley, at an altitude of 1,740 metres.
Upon arrival, check in to your comfortable mountain lodge, your base for the next two days, and meet your experienced local mountain team. After a short briefing, set out on a rewarding loop hike of approximately six hours. The route follows quieter trails away from the busier paths, offering a genuine sense of tranquillity and immersion in the High Atlas landscape. As you gradually gain altitude, the scenery changes around you. The wooded slopes give way to more open mountain terrain, revealing increasingly impressive views across the Mizane Valley. The trail continues past traditional grazing areas and simple shepherd shelters, providing an authentic glimpse into the seasonal rhythm of mountain life.
Your main objective for the day is the Isk Summit (2,520m). From this peaceful viewpoint, enjoy a spectacular panorama of the surrounding High Atlas, including commanding views towards Mount Toubkal and its neighbouring peaks.
After taking time to rest and enjoy the scenery, begin your descent through the forest towards Aroumd, one of the most distinctive Berber villages in the region. Dramatically perched on a rocky hillside, Aroumd is known for its traditional stone houses and striking mountain setting. From the village, follow an easy trail along the valley back towards Imlil, arriving at your lodge in the mid to late afternoon. The remainder of the day is free to freshen up, relax, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before gathering for a well-deserved farewell dinner.

Day 2: Imlil Valley (1,740m) – Tizi n'Tamatert Pass (2,284m) – Talmroute Summit (2,600m) – Imlil – Marrakech
After breakfast, begin your final day in the High Atlas with a steady ascent from Imlil towards the Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,284m).
The trail winds through traditional Berber hamlets, where stone houses blend naturally into the mountainside and mules remain an important part of everyday life. As you climb higher, the landscape opens up, with terraced fields, juniper and pine forests, and a succession of switchbacks revealing increasingly expansive views over the Imlil region.
Reaching Tizi n’Tamatert Pass, pause to admire the impressive panorama stretching across the tranquil Imenane Valley.
From the pass, the trail becomes more challenging as you leave the main route and continue towards Talmroute Summit (2,600m). Some sections are steep, making this a more demanding part of the trek, but the effort is rewarded at the summit with magnificent mountain scenery.
From the top, enjoy a spectacular 360-degree panorama across the High Atlas. On clear days, you can see the imposing summit of Mount Toubkal towards the southwest, together with the dramatic ridgelines and valleys of the Imenane and Azzaden regions.
After taking time to rest, enjoy the views, and capture some memorable photographs, begin the descent back towards Imlil. The return follows a varied route through rugged mountain terrain and fragrant pine forests before reaching the greener, cultivated slopes of the valley.
On arrival in Imlil, collect your luggage and take some time to freshen up before your private transfer back to Marrakech. Sit back and enjoy the scenic journey as you leave the High Atlas behind, bringing your two-day mountain adventure to an end.

Yes, the trek is designed as an easy introduction to the High Atlas Mountains. However, both days include around 6 hours of hiking, with some challenging uphill sections, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
How difficult is the Easy 2-Day Atlas Mountains Hike?
The trek is considered an easy Atlas Mountains experience, but it still includes some demanding climbs. Day 1 reaches the Isk Summit at 2,520m, while Day 2 climbs to Talmroute Summit at 2,600m via Tizi n’Tamatert Pass. The final ascent to Talmroute can be steep and more exposed in places.

What is included in the Easy 2-Day Atlas Mountains Hike?
The tour includes a local guide, accommodation, breakfast, food, lunches and transportation. Airport transfers, mineral water, sleeping bags, tips and optional activities such as camel riding and ziplining are not included. A mule for luggage is also not included, so you should plan to carry your own luggage or arrange an alternative in advance.
