During this 4 days desert trip from Marrakech city, you will have chance to visit many amazing places at a very relaxing pace; no rush! It will be less driving than a 3 days sahara trip!

First day, after pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 7:30 am, we firstly cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass of the High Atlas mountains. It’s going to be nice tour from Marrakech to sahara desert. You will pass through many Berber villages, and once in the desert, riverside oasis and barren hillsides are clustered with Kasbahs. After lunch we drive further to Valley of the Roses, with beautiful views of the Dades valley, valley of a thousand kasbahs. Overnight at a Hotel in Dades. It will take around 6 to 7h drive.

The next day, after breakfast, we drive to Todra Gorges, and after a short stop there we drive on to Merzouga, where we will find camels waiting for us, we ride to the camp where we will spend a memorable night under the stars. After seeing a beautiful sunset you will enjoy a fantastic dinner.

The third day, after viewing the most beautiful sunrise and having breakfast at the camp, you will ride the camels back to our vehicle place. From there it will be a long day driving to Ait Ben Haddou which is a small town with one of the best-preserved and most sought-after Kasbah’s to visit in all of Morocco. Lunch on the way to Ait benhaddou. Overnight at a Hotel.

The last day, drive back to Marrakech, again via Tichka pass. You will arrive in Marrakech early in the afternoon. Drop off at your accommodation. It will take around 4h drive. That’s the end of our amazing 4 days desert trip!

Tour Plan

Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi n'Tichka Pass – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

After pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, begin your journey south towards the spectacular High Atlas Mountains.

Follow the winding mountain road towards the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, crossing the highest major mountain pass in Morocco. Along the way, pass through traditional Amazigh villages and enjoy impressive views of rugged peaks, valleys and terraced hillsides.

As you descend towards the southern side of the Atlas, the landscape gradually transforms. Green mountain valleys give way to arid hills, palm-filled oases and traditional mud-brick kasbahs scattered across the landscape. After lunch, continue towards the Valley of Roses, passing through beautiful scenery on the way to the Dades Valley, often known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.”

Arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon and relax while enjoying the dramatic surroundings of the Dades Valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Tinghir – Merzouga

After breakfast, leave the Dades Valley and continue east towards Tinghir, one of southern Morocco’s most beautiful oasis towns. Continue to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where towering limestone cliffs rise dramatically on either side of the narrow valley. Take some time to explore the gorge on foot and enjoy the unique atmosphere before continuing your journey towards the Sahara.

Travel through the changing landscapes of southern Morocco until you reach Merzouga, at the edge of the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, your camels will be waiting. Climb aboard and begin your memorable journey across the golden Sahara dunes. As the sun begins to set, watch the desert landscape transform into warm shades of gold and orange.

Arrive at your desert camp and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner beneath the stars, accompanied by the peaceful atmosphere of the Sahara.

Overnight: Desert camp in Merzouga

Day 3: Merzouga – Ait Benhaddou

Wake early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara dunes before enjoying breakfast at the camp.

After breakfast, climb back onto your camel and ride across the dunes to meet your vehicle. From Merzouga, begin the long journey towards Ait Benhaddou, travelling through the spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant along the way before continuing towards your destination. Arrive at Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s bestpreserved and most iconic fortified villages. This historic ksar, built from traditional earthen architecture, is one of the country’s most remarkable cultural landmarks and has featured in numerous international film productions. Take some time to explore the ancient lanes and kasbahs before settling into your hotel for the evening.
