Toubkal Ascent

165£ per person

Go on a 3 days Toubkal ascent from Marrakech city. You will cross high passes and valleys before you climb mount toubkal on the last day.

 

The Toubkal ascent itinerary is as below:

First day, our driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech in the early morning. Drive towards Imlil valley, which is the starting point of your trek. It will take 1h30 drive. Once you get there, you will be met by our local team. Then, you set off trekking to Azib Tamsoult refuge where you will spend the night. You will pass by Tizi Mzik pass 2489m from where you will enjoy very nice views over imlil valley. Carry on walking downhill to Azib tamsoult. It will take around 5h walk.

 

The next day, you will have an early breakfast, and trek to the Toubkal basecamp. You will pass via Tizi n’Auguelzim pass 3600m from where you get amazing views over the 4000m peaks including mount toubkal. Then, you will carry on walking downhill to the refuge where you will spend the night. It will take around 6 to 7h walk.

 

The third day, it’s the summit day. You will wake very early to have breakfast. Then, you walk uphill to the summit. Once you reach the top, you will forget the hard work , and enjoy breathtaking views over all the high atlas mountains. walk back down via the same way to the refuge where you will have lunch. After that, you will keep walking downhill to imlil valley, and transfer back to Marrakech. It will take around 10h walk + 1h30 drive to Marrakech.

Day 1: Marrakech - Imlil - Tizi Mzik pass - Azib Tamsoult refuge
Pick up you from your accommodation in Marrakech and drive towards the high Atlas Mountains occidental via Oued Ghighaya and Asni, enjoy the stunning view of the villages. Arrival to Imlil town the famous point start the treks in high atlas morocco (65 km the south of Marrakech), meet with our team guide and multeer and then start the trek and climb viaTizi Mzik pass (2684m), spectacular view over Imlil valley and Toubkal peak, continue to Azib Tamsoulte after lunch visit the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains (100m of height), Overnight in Tamsoult Refuge, 5hrs walking.

Day 2: Azib Tamsoult - Tizi n'Auguelzim pass - Toubkal refuge.
After breakfast, we set out eastwards on a moderately difficult hike up winding mule tracks to the Tizi Aguelzim (3,550m), thence a further 3 hours south-east to the Refuge which marks the spring snowline at 3,207m, where we spend the night at a refuge. Around 7h walk.

Day 3: Refuge - Toubkal summit - Refuge - Imlil - Marrakech
Early in the morning we make our attempt on the summit of Jebel Toukbal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. Our route takes us up the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. The walking is relatively straightforward, but the scree and the altitude will make the going quite difficult in parts. When you reach the summit you will see that the vistas across the surrounding landscape are quite breathtaking. We will retrace our steps when we return down the mountain and head back towards Imlil. Transfer back to Marrakech. Around 10h walk + 1h30 drive to Marrakech
