ITINERARY:
Your journey begins with a comfortable pickup from your Marrakech accommodation, followed by a scenic drive into the heart of the High Atlas Mountains.
Nestled at an altitude of approximately 1,800 meters, the Imlil Valley is widely known as the gateway to the High Atlas and the primary base for trekking Jbel Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak. This lush valley serves as a refreshing escape from the heat of Marrakech, characterized by its terraced fields, vibrant walnut and apple orchards, and a network of traditional Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides. Whether you are visiting for a gentle walk to the Imlil waterfalls or embarking on a high-altitude expedition, the valley offers a unique window into Amazigh (Berber) culture and hospitality.
Upon arriving in the picturesque town of Imlil, you’ll have a welcome tea before setting off on your ascent from an altitude of 1,740m. As you climb, the trail winds through the charming hamlet of Ait Souka and the village of Tamatert (1,800m), offering a glimpse into local life amidst ancient walnut groves and traditional Berber architecture.
The trek culminates at the Tedli Summit (2,600m), where you are rewarded with sweeping, 360-degree panoramas of the Atlas range and the majestic Jbel Toubkal. Here, you’ll enjoy a well-deserved lunch overlooking the snow-capped peaks and verdant valleys below. The experience concludes with a descent back to Imlil, where you can explore the local waterfalls and soak in the mountain atmosphere before your return transfer to Marrakech.
