Toubkal Trekking was born in the heart of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, founded by a team of local mountain guides with a deep understanding of the landscapes, cultures, and communities that make this region so extraordinary.
At the heart of the company is Mustapha Bouinbaden, who grew up in the Imlil Valley, just 65 km from Marrakech. For Mustapha, the mountains are more than a destination—they are home.
His connection to mountain guiding began at an early age, following in the footsteps of his father, one of Morocco’s pioneering mountain guides who worked with international travel companies from around the world. Inspired by this heritage, Mustapha began working professionally in tourism in 2005.
He later earned a Bachelor’s degree from Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech and graduated from the Mountain Guide School in Tabant (CFAMM). His combination of professional training, local knowledge, and lifelong experience in the mountains has shaped the philosophy behind Toubkal Trekking.

Over the years, Toubkal Trekking has grown into an established destination management company (DMC), working with travel companies and tour operators across Europe and the United States.
Our international experience has taught us the importance of reliability, clear communication, attention to detail, and consistently high standards. But our greatest asset remains something that cannot be learned from a guidebook: local knowledge.
Our team includes more than 30 local professionals, including qualified mountain guides, muleteers, cooks, and drivers. Many come from the Atlas Mountain communities where our journeys take place.
They know the trails, the seasons, the villages, the people, and the stories behind the landscapes. They are not simply service providers—they are the people who bring Morocco to life.
