The Atlas Mountains at a Glance

The mountain also separates the coastlines of the Mediterranean and Atlantic from the Sahara Desert. Anti Atlas

High Atlas
The grandest and most visited out of all the ranges of the Atlas Mountains can be found right outside Marrakech. Several peaks of more than 3,000 meters make up the High Atlas. It also has the highest peak in North Africa, Mount Toubkal standing proud at 4,167 meters towering within Toubkal National Park. All sorts of trekking opportunities are available here, including a visit to the Berber villages.
